Is overnight equities trading a fad or the future?
Competition is heating up in US equity markets as more venues look to provide trading from twilight to dawn. But overnight trading has skeptics, and there are technical considerations to address.

The day before Americans were due to break bread at their Thanksgiving tables in late November last year, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) granted its approval to 24X National Exchange, a start-up equities exchange that will operate 23 hours a day, five days a week.
A month prior, the New York Stock Exchange announced its intention to expand trading hours at its Arca equities exchange to 22 hours, and just this week, Cboe Global also threw its hat in the ring with plans to offer
