Stakes raised for UK bond, EU derivatives tapes after Ediphy clinches win

The pressure is on for TransFICC, Etrading, Finbourne, and Propellant Digital, who are still vying to provide the UK’s fixed income consolidated tape after Esma awarded the EU’s tape to Ediphy and its partners.

Four companies, two of whom are a team, are turning their attention to the UK’s fixed income consolidated tape after the race to provide the EU’s version of the tape culminated in a win for Ediphy’s FairCT initiative on Thursday.

FairCT, led by Ediphy and backed by Google Cloud, UBS, TP Icap, Cboe Global Markets, FactSet, and Norges Bank Investment Management, is also still in the running for the UK tape. Though both tapes have the same function—to provide investors with a live stream of trade
