Major exchanges are partnering with a new crop of benchmark providers to create a tradable asset class around GPU compute.

Futures exchanges like the Intercontinental Exchange and CME Group, as well as a new breed of index providers, are competing to launch futures tied to graphics processing units and compute costs. The reason is simple: oodles of money are riding on the GPU market, and there is only a handful of makers and sellers.
