Assessing the Evolving OTC Landscape: New Opportunities and Challenges ─ Webcast
This webinar is no longer available.
The enforcement of regulation affecting over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives, especially the Dodd-Frank Act, is creating a new trading landscape. Electronic trading of these instruments is supposed to create greater transparency in the marketplace, but has resulted in short-term confusion as market participants still have unanswered questions. In this webinar, we will examine the impact these changes are having while exploring the decisions that participants have to make around trading platforms, infrastructure, clearinghouses and providers.
- What impact did the onset of the made-available-to-trade (MAT) rule on Feb. 15 have on liquidity and the market?
- What instruments are and will be mandated to be traded on swap execution facilities (SEFs)?
- Which SEFs will emerge as the liquidity winners, and why?
- Modernising infrastructure: Are trading firms fully prepared for the new environment?
Speakers:
- James Wallin, senior vice president, Alliance Bernstein
- Charley Cooper, COO of trading & clearing, State Street Global Exchange
- Nick Solinger, head of product strategy and chief marketing officer, Traiana
- Barry Smith, director, global exchanges & trading venues, Equinix
- Moderator: Jacob Thomases, US staff writer, WatersTechnology
