Citi Takes IBM’s zEnterprise Mainframe Server

In late July, IBM unveiled its new mainframe server, zEnterprise, which the vendor claims is the most powerful and energy-efficient mainframe to date.

Martin Kennedy, managing director at banking giant Citi, says the bank is putting zEnterprise to work in its datacenters. “The new IBM zEnterprise System represents a potentially revolutionary change to the platform and the next phase in the evolution of highly efficient, scalable processing, opening up the possibility of hosting entire workloads
