Built on VCE's VBlock virtualization and cloud technology, the Gravitas Private Cloud will include the configuration of a messaging platform for New Vernon's production and disaster recovery environments. In addition to core systems, New Vernon Capital will also consolidate existing physical servers that currently house their proprietary portfolio reporting and accounting systems onto a single, enterprise-class platform.

Gravitas, the New York-based buy-side technology provider, has completed several initiatives for New Vernon since its launch in 2004. These include implementing Advent's Geneva, a portfolio management system designed for the alternative investment industry. Gravitas also designed and implemented a data warehouse that enabled customized reporting from multiple data sources.

"It was critical for New Vernon Capital to partner with a cloud technology provider that understands our business and can deliver a secure, flexible infrastructure that can scale with us," says Jeffrey Edwards, partner and COO of New Vernon Capital. "Gravitas has been with us since our launch, and has provided us with the incremental solutions we've needed each step of the way since then in a very holistic way."
