Nasdaq Grabs More LSE Shares


LONDON—For the second week in a row, Nasdaq grabbed additional shares in the London Stock Exchange (LSE), bringing its total ownership to 24.1 percent.

The latest acquisitions of shares took place in two instances on Wednesday, May 10. In the morning, Nasdaq announced that it had acquired 10,291,440 shares in the LSE for a price of £12.48 ($23.51) per share, representing approximately £128.4 million ($239.30 million) and pushing its holding in the LSE to 22.7 percent.
