US Exchanges Report Greater Revenues From Market Data Fees

EXCHANGE WATCH

NEW YORK--US exchanges are generating more revenue from market data then they ever have, thanks largely to the increases in trading activity and the ever-expanding audience for real-time prices.

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) reports $43 million in data fee revenues for the fiscal year 1999 ended December 31, according to its annual report. That figure is 7.3 percent higher than the $40.08 million it earned in 1998, and this increase is slightly higher than the increase in data revenues
