IMD Chicago 2011: Open Source, Cloud as Capacity Cure

Adoption of new computing paradigms such as cloud computing and open-source technology could help trading firms wrestling with capacity issues to tame the deluge of market data, panelists said—at least, as they mature in financial services.

At last week’s IMD Chicago event, Daryan Dehghanpisheh, director of financial services at Intel, said he is seeing storage and computing elements converge as more open-source providers enter the marketplace, which will eventually create economies of scale.
