FSB Approves ISO LEI Standard

The Financial Stability Board (FSB) has approved a legal entity identifier (LEI) standard published by ISO (the International Organization for Standardization), Inside Reference Data has learned.

"ISO 17442: 2012, Financial Services – Legal Entity Identifier," contains a 20-character alphanumeric code and additional reference data elements. The standard is intended to identify global entities that require an LEI, defines open governance for issuance and maintenance of LEIs, and does not embed
