FSB Does Not Expect LEI System To Be Live In March

The Financial Stability Board (FSB) has made it clear that it does not expect the global legal entity identifier (LEI) system to be live by March 2013, as previously thought by many market participants, according to an executive who is contributing to the LEI project. Instead, the FSB expects the bodies and committees that will be responsible for the global LEI system to be in place by that date. This creates the possibility that interim LEIs may be deployed in a number of jurisdictions.
