EIOPA Seeks Feedback on Plans to Mandate LEI Usage

EIOPA, the Frankfurt-based supervisory authority for the insurance industry, is seeking feeback on its plans to mandate use of the LEI

The European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) is seeking feedback on draft guidelines that oblige insurance and reinsurance companies and pension providers in Europe to register for legal entity identifiers (LEI) and require the use of the codes for identifying financial institutions.

EIOPA's draft guidelines require national competent authorities in Europe to draw up regulations that oblige entities within the scope of Solvency II to register for an LEI by June 30, 2015
