Numbering Agencies Update ISIN Standard

Brussels-based ANNA widens the ISIN standard

The standard for the International Securities Identification Number (ISIN) has been updated, according to the Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA).

The update is the result of a joint initiative of all 118 National Numbering Agencies, the bodies responsible for administering the identifier. The latest version broadens the 22-year-old ISO 6166 standard to cover more instrument types, including exchange-traded and over-the-counter derivatives and structured product instruments.
