A Standards Battle Is Joined

Last month, I wrote that Inside Reference Data  readers were anticipating the issuance of legal entity identifier (LEI) standards, which has come to pass, along with an industry reaction of the Global Financial Markets Association (GFMA) favoring Swift and DTCC/Avox to administer the standard. This answered some of the questions asked here in July, making it likely that the two organizations would indeed be caretakers of LEI.

FCA declines to directly regulate market data prices

A year-long investigation by the UK regulator to determine whether competition is hindered in the wholesale data markets has concluded with its decision not to directly regulate much-maligned data pricing and licensing structures.
