CalPERS Migrates To OS/2 To Link With Boston Safe And Eliminate Mainframe

The California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) is installing 100 IBM PS/2 microprocessors running OS/2 to provide access to Boston Safe Deposit & Trust Co.'s bureau-based Client Reporting System (CRS) and to provide other, local applications.

Once the installation is complete--it's scheduled to go live before year-end--CalPERS personnel, including money managers, traders and back-office personnel, will be equipped with 386- and 486-based PS/2 microprocessors.
