Forget the latest iPad apps, the hottest topic in the US at the moment is the potential introduction of the Office of Financial Research—the data and analysis center that has been proposed in the financial reform bill. At the North American Financial Information Summit in New York in May, speakers said they were having internal meetings to assess the potential impact on their business. The interesting point was that these meetings seem to result in different conclusions.
