FCA: Mifid II Enforcement Starts Jan. 3, Will Be Targeted
UK regulator's Mifid coordinator underscores message from European Commission earlier this month: no further delays to deadline. However, enforcement will be targeted.
“The deadline for Mifid II was already extended once, so we do not plan further extension of the deadline,” Dombrovskis confirmed in response to industry calls to postpone the implementation of the new regulatory regime until Jan. 8, which falls on a Monday. Jan. 3 is a Wednesday.
