GreySpark Pans EU Consolidated Tape for BestEx

A consolidated tape of pan-European post-trade data is not sufficient for buy- and sell-side firms to achieve and demonstrate best execution, according to the results of research conducted by London-based capital markets consultancy GreySpark Partners.

The European Commission’s second iteration of its Markets in Financial Instruments Directive mandates such a tape in its draft proposals, which the EC released last month (IMD, Oct. 24). But according to the research, released last week
