‘Suspicious’ Turquoise Outage Prompts FSA Investigation

The UK Financial Services Authority (FSA) is investigating the trading disruption that affected the Turquoise multilateral trading facility (MTF) for about two hours on Tuesday, Nov. 2, according to officials from the London Stock Exchange (LSE), which owns and operates Turquoise.

The outage lasted from 8:23 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. local time on Tuesday. An official statement from the LSE blames human error for the outage—and indicates that it may have occurred under “suspicious circumstances.”
