StreamBase Launches LiveView 1.0
Complex event processing (CEP) software vendor StreamBase Systems today announced the release of LiveView version 1.0, an analytics platform for streaming and historical data provided in real time, which it discussed late last year.
The platform includes an active query capability that gives clients the ability to analyze events immediately from 150 data sources, anticipate exceptional conditions, and act on customized analytics before the data is moved to and processed in corporate data stores.
StreamBase expects the new functionality to enhance a number of important modalities for firms, including trading risk management, network operations risk, real-time fraud detection and call data records (CDR) analysis.
"StreamBase LiveView has been called 'Twitter for enterprise data.' That's an apt analogy, since it allows users to analyze, anticipate and act on streaming real-time information as it happens—before it's summarized and distilled by a warehouse, or Hadoop. LiveView turns the physics of traditional analytics upside down; not only can our customers see what's going on right now—they can also anticipate important conditions before they occur, and LiveView proactively notifies them of those conditions," says Mark Palmer, StreamBase's CEO.
