Significant delays in European and global financial information regulation have occurred recently, particularly with Mifid II and “Gatca,” the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (Fatca)-inspired nickname for the Common Reporting Standards (CRS) developed by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

The postponement of the compliance deadline for Mifid II by the European Commission from January 2017 to January 2018 was rumored in late 2015 and became reality on February 10
