Nasdaq Rolls Out Workstation Replacement

The Nasdaq Stock Market is developing a new market data and trading front-end to replace Nasdaq Workstation II as part of a revamp of the technology used to access the market.

NWII uses the older SDP (Standard Delivery Platforms) client-server architecture that accommodates the APIs used to access Nasdaq. This architecture, which uses leased lines from MCI, is being discontinued at the end of October, as is support for the workstation, says Chris Concannon, executive vice-president of Nasdaq
