E-Commerce: Corp. Governance Gets Easier for Fund Managers


LONDON--Corporate governance is fast entering the electronic age in the UK, as the first votes have now been registered on the third electronic proxy voting system to go live this year.

Hermes Investment Management, a London-based fund manager, became the first fund manager to conduct electronic balloting when it held a UK company annual general meeting and staged a vote via Thomson Financial’s E-Vote, an Internet-based proxy voting system.
