CFTC Clarifies Swaps Definitions

In testimony given before the US House Committee on Agriculture earlier today, Gary Gensler, chairman of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), elaborated on the regulator's proposed definitions of who qualifies as a swap dealer or swap participant, and who can be excluded from futures and swap regulation, under proposed Dodd–Frank rules.
